The Bio
Lance Boyd, a native of Plainfield, New Jersey, is an award winning educator/youth activist. In addition to performing in several theatrical productions since the age of seven, he has directed and written several plays during his tenure as an exemplary teacher with Atlanta Public and Fulton County Schools. The productions encompass global issues faced by teens and young adults. Since moving to Atlanta, Georgia in 1988, Mr. Boyd has been affiliated with educational institutions and production companies that exemplify positive roles for young people through creative arts: Alliance TheatreTeen Play Series, Atlanta Metropolitan College Prep, Atlanta Street Theatre, Catch XXII Global Arts, CAU Saturday Science Academy, Fulton County, Annual Call to Manhood Conference/Rites of Passage Program, Men of West Organization, National Urban Coalition for Unity Peace, Peachtree Urban Writing Project, Latin Teen Organization,T-Dionne Enteprises Inc. , Urban League of Essex County Teen Film Project and The Development of an Athlete, Inc.
Lance Boyd has won numerous awards for his outstanding contribution to education. His most noteworthy accomplishment in education is the recipient of the Atlanta Public Schools Systemwide Middle School Teacher of the Year Award. He further received recognition and honors by the Superintendent of Atlanta Public Schools, Atlanta Association of Educators, Atlanta Federation of Teachers, Atlanta Partners of Education, Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, and Coca Cola Teacher Award.
Mr. Boyd’s lifetime commitment to young people extends beyond the classroom as he promotes aspiring Indie recording artists who use their musical ingenuity to empower communities worldwide via television networks, radio broadcasts, performance venues, studio recordings, video productions, and on-line marketing ventures. To his credits, Mr. Boyd has hosted three radio shows “The Kingdom Worship Hour”, “Generation Breakthrough”, and “The Lance Boyd Radio Show” on Atlanta WTJH 1260, Atlanta Love 860: WAEC, BBG Worldwide Intenet Network, Global Dyznamic Live 107 , and Ensound Worldwide Internet Network.. Currently, the Lance Boyd Talent Showcase Indie Artist Network-The TV Broadcast airs via worldwide streaming on the Atlanta Comcast channel 24 every Wednesday at 6 pm EST: www.peopletv.org; 5 days in South Fulton County, Georgia FCTV Channel -Channel 25; weekly on Dekalb County, GA on Comcast 25: Mondays at 9PM. The broadcast can be viewed on demand worldwide via peopletv.org and youtube.com/lanceboydtalent. The network partners with talent agencies and production companies that promote and market Indie Recording Artists.
